Congratulations to Partner Jacqueline M. Satherlie, who successfully defended a former top-performing sales vice president of a (publicly held) managing general agency against allegations of aiding and abetting a life insurance broker in breaching his fiduciary duty to his 50% shareholder/partner regarding payment of commissions earned on certain life insurance policies. The aggrieved shareholder/partner and the court appointed receiver for the insurance agency demanded $5,400,000. At the close of a five day bench trial, a judgment was entered in favor of our client.
