Sladjana Vuckovic

Sladjana Vuckovic is a defense trial attorney who has been practicing law for more than 25 years. At Kopka Pinkus Dolin, she focuses on all areas of insurance defense, tort litigation, premises liability, transportation, and motor vehicle liability. She has experience representing transportation companies, insurance companies and individual defendants. Her experience defending individuals charged with traffic citations, DUIs, and major felonies, brings a unique perspective to her clients at Kopka Pinkus Dolin.

Sladjana is a skilled at consistently obtaining favorable results in trial verdicts, arbitrations, summary judgment, dispositive and directed verdict motions, and has had great success in creating favorable outcomes for her clients. Prior to coming to KPD, she was awarded the Client’s Choice Award 2018; Avvo Rating 9.1 Top Attorney; an Expertise Award for Best Criminal Attorney in Cicero 2021; and in 2012 won the First Defender Award from First Defense Legal Aid.

She has first chair jury trial experience in defending both individuals and insurance companies. In a case of first impression at the trial court level People v. Aaron Smith 2022 IL App. (1st) 19069, Sladjana challenged the use of stop orders by the Chicago Police without a warrant as unconstitutional under the Illinois Constitution and the First District Appellate court agreed with her.

Sladjana was born in the former Yugoslavia and immigrated with her family to the south side of Chicago. She is bilingual in Serbo-Croatian and English. She graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana (B.A. in History and English Literature) and received a J.D. from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois.

Sladjana is devoted to giving back to the community she volunteers at Lawyers-Lend-A-Hand Tutoring program and is a board member of Integrity Media, a not-for-profit organization devoted to supporting independent journalism and fighting censorship.
