Rafael J. Guzman is experienced as a petitioner and plaintiffs’ attorney in workers’ compensation and personal injury cases. His most recent experience involved criminal defense, traffic citation defense, DUI, and continued representation of petitioners in workers compensation cases and plaintiffs in personal injury matters. At Kopka Pinkus Dolin, he focuses his practice on workers’ compensation defense where his previous experience brings his clients a unique perspective.
Born and raised in Moline, IL., attorney Guzman is a first generation Mexican American and youngest of four. He is bilingual in Spanish and English and has devoted a great deal of time helping Spanish speaking clients.
He is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Law (John Marshall). In his spare time, he is active in his community by volunteering as a baseball and softball coach until recently. He is the chairperson for his village’s Council for Inclusion and Community where their goal is to make the community a welcoming and inclusive place to live, work, and visit. He enjoys spending time with his family, wife Jackie, son Joaquin, and daughter Elena, and taking advantage of the summertime in Chicago.
